############################################################## # Pagan WebCrafters' Association # # )O( # # "Serving the Magickal, Occult, and Pagan Earth Community." # ############################################################## 1.) No my _______ is far more superior than your ________. I hate browser wars, I hate OS wars, I hate email client wars! This is not the list for geek elitist comments. We are here to help each other, not to make others feel stupid. 2.) No attachments This includes smart alec hacks that appear like attachments in some mail readers as an attempt to show the supposed inferiority of said mail readers. 3.) Disable code when posting it to the list. When posting raw code as an example please disable it by adding a . after the < or using ( or { for < so some email programs will not interpret the code, producing email that can look something like these: http://www.thepwa.net/members/htmlmail.jpg http://www.thepwa.net/members/scr01_bw.gif 4.) Snip your posts. When replying to a post list members have already read just use enough to remind everyone what you are replying to, it is not necessary to quote back the entire post. 5.) Try to stay on Topic. On this list we try to keep the focus on web design and web related topics. Opinions expressed are that of the person expressing them. Off Topic discussions (threads generally not related to the topic of web crafting) are allowed and generally only last about 24 hours. Please add OT to the subject line when posting off topic threads. If the posts become long or a debate they should be moved off-list. Continued posting off-topic can lead to your removal, if you do not stop when you have been asked to take that discussion off the list. (See rule 9 about off list contact.) 6.) Site Critiques: If you're requesting a review of your site the subject line should look like this: Critique: Name of your site. The very first thing in the body should be your URL so we know where to find your site followed by details of what you want from the critique, i.e. full critique, browser check, trouble shooting, etc. When giving a critique, remember that it is constructive criticism not destructive criticism that is being sought by the requester. Please keep in mind that not everyone on the list is shooting for elite professionalism. Also you should strive to ensure the URL of the site remains in your critique response. 7.) Absolutely NO Activism! While activism may be a passion of yours, it is not the passion of everyone. Try to be considerate and remember that this is an international list. US activism does not pertain to some of our members, particularly the ones who usually have to pay to download their email. For them a huge OT post about US political activism in the Pagan community is rather useless and an imposition on their inbox. 8.) No SPAM! Please be advised that SPAM will not be tolerated. This is your one warning. If you post SPAM to the list you will be unsubscribed without any additional warning. 9.) No Flames on or off list! If a moderator feels you have made an inflammatory post (flame) you will be asked to make a public apology. If you do not, you will be removed. Do not contact someone off list without first asking their permission on list, unless you already know that person from outside of this list. Flaming someone off list about a post made on list could lead to your removal and possible banishment from this list. 10.) Gwen's word is law and don't argue with the moderators. None of us subscribed to PWAL to engage in arguments about how it is managed. Such threads are not encouraged on the list, and if the a moderator asks that such a discussion continue off-list, it will be or you will be. This includes any discussions about the website unless the WebCrafter of thepwa.net either asks for a critique or invites such discussion about the website. Curious about what is posted on the moderators list? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pwa-m Our moderators are: Ashlyn, Kriselda, Joann Ramer, Inanna Liban, Ghwendolyn Wolfrose, and St.Parker If you have any questions about the Pagan WebCrafters' Association as a whole you can e-mail Ghwendolyn Wolfrose directly at ghwendolyn @ thepwa.net (remove the spaces)
